: Yes, but it is not normal to "chop" a hole. The hole is drilled using a saddle, and can be done under pressure, normally without spilling any waste water. It is a very common procedure.-Read that PDF document in the next post. It shows this method.

I think the proper Danish expression is "anboring", at least when it comes to steel and cast-iron pipe. Similar words are used in Swedish and Norwegian.
