...ex-factory date & its similarities. Moreover, manufacture date & its similarities are also popular, however, even for a factory, this date is probably different from that of 出厂日期 in Chinese biz practice. I appreciate Joyce's question and all helpers!

I admit that shipping date is practically referred to the 出厂日期 for a factory who produce the goods, but for a distributor or reseller, the shipping date will obviously be different from the 出厂日期 in Chinese practice/custom. It's why I stick to ex-factory..

It is such a comfort when I look around the all of you always here to help me to understand. To me, it is never an argument, more or less it is a lecture for me to learn. Thank you very much!
I am a open person to this profession, if things I don't understand, I will make sure it is ok. I explained the situation to my clients directly yesterday and they except my comments, so this problem is unfolded.

Many good comments above. I was unfamiliar with "Ex works", but Prof Projex's pointer to Incoterms pans out well. As to "leave factory date", my poking around suggests it is not as common as "ex factory date" (as well as being unfamiliar to my ears...

About the "ex-works", what i have learned from "international trade" is that its a trading term like i said before. I only know "Ex-Works (place)" so far, just because its defined as this in <Incoterms 2000>.

but we use "shipping date" to be as "出厂日期", but of course, that also means the date that products would leave the factory, be far away;)

hrm..ok, now it seems the factory that Adsion IS WORKING FOR uses "the leave factory" as "出厂日期", rite, Adsion? But the factory Im working for uses "shipping date" only hehe. BTW, my company produces many kinds of E-products, and markets all over the world

which is absolutely the most popular. You are not recommended to put the shipping date because a product could have multiple shipping date but only one leave factory date...Malcolm Mayfield has proposed with a good question, you see...Good luck Joyce!

If you put leave factory date, that's absolutely OK, but not shipping date or date of shipment, it's not directly related to the factory...the fact that you have not seen does not mean its inexistence, moreover, I am always for the leave factory date...

ex factory: I am not sure about ex-factory, I don't know it is because I did hear before or just don't feel certain.

This term is a single line in the list, so I put "factory shipment date" rather than "shipping date" or others.

ex-works date

As titled, we can put it Date of leave factory, leave-factory date, but according to my experience, Ex-work(s) date is more professional.
By the way, 出厂日期 and 生产日期 is actually different from each other, since the products are not usually made leave factory on the same date when they are made...

neutral 855649 (X) : EX-Works is EXW, and its a term of business trading, like EXW, FOB, DAF, CIF etc etc. If you are using these terms, then it would work. But in regards to mechanics, engineering, and factory shipping, I don't know if that would be appropriate
