@Muriel I don't see how "emergente" can be linked to "aproxima" here. They are talking about someone with certain symptoms which could be attributed to age but may be not given that the individual is close to a certain sector which is an emerging "risk group".
I would not use the concept of "reaching" since this is about someone who is close to the upper age limit (i.e., old but young enough to be part of the age group between brackets). So not "reaching" 40, but not too far from 60.

emergente I'm not sure it means 'emerging'. i think the entire phrase means something like: 'is beginning to reach the vulnerable/susceptible profile'. In other words, the semantic content 'emerging' refers more to the "se aproxima" part than the "perfil" part.

@Eileen I do not think "perfil emergente" is a medical term in Spanish. I believe they are referring to an emerging sector of the population now prone to depression. The previous paragraph might shed more light on this.
