My translating career started in an unusual place: a law office. As a law graduate working towards becoming a lawyer, I discovered that I could reconcile two interests of mine, i.e. law and language studies (a pure hobby for over 25 years), through translating legal documents. What everyone found tedious, I found fun, and therefore formalized the amalgamation of interests by becoming an official court interpreter, which I have been happily doing for over 2,5 years now, further specializing in translating any type of legal text, particularly intellectual property law-, corporate law- and commercial law-related, and broadening my translation scope to HR documents, financial and accounting documents (e.g. financial statements) etc. |
