Translation - English Before moving on to the story of coffeehouses, let’s first try to understand the journey of coffee beans. Although that tale itself is rich and detailed enough to fill a book of its own, it is still important to understand the milestones, because only then it will be possible to fully grasp the history of these houses that gave birth to so many stories.
We don’t know exactly when and how the first encounter of mankind with coffee took place. However, we do know that the plant itself originated from the ancient Ethiopian plateau and that it took a long time for man and coffee beans to finally make each others acquaintance. Since then and over the course of a millennium, the two have been inseparable as if to make up for the lost time. But could there be more to the story?
