A fantastic day in the capital city. I only anticipated a small turnout - based on the attendance submitted on Proz.com (5) - prior to our meeting at 3p.m. When I arrived it was more like 12; a mixture of aspiring and experienced translators. The usual translation-related conversation ensued, such as CAT tools, DipTrans exams (Alexandra!), forthcoming courses and seminars, networking etc. There's always a lot to learn for new translators. Everyone was in high spirits by the time I left, possibly thanks to the several half-empty wine bottles dotted around the table, and an immaculate plate where, only moments before, a chocolate cake sat (Alexandra!). By all accounts the fun continued throughout the day, and I'm sorry I had to leave so early. I promise not to drink the night before the Christmas powwow...
