I went to La Quinta High School in Westminster, made friends who didn't speak much Spanish and ended up learning English in just one year.
Afte...r that I enrolled at the Golden West College in Huntington Beach, their body shop was famous and studied Auto Collision Repair and Paint which I did not finish due to the new job I got at the Santa Ana Unified School District as a Substitute Teacher Assistant. In order for me to get the job I had to pass a bilingual/biliterate Spanish/English test, as my main duty was going to be translating for teachers/students.
Couple years later I moved back to Mexico and took my first car with me, being a 1969 Mustang Mach One all fixed up for drag racing something would periodically break down every other week. Needless to say I developed a basic knowledge of the mechanical components and their functions, I’ve always had a mechanical inclination so I ended up going to CECATI and becoming and Auto Technician.
Later I moved to Dallas TX, I had planned going to college to study Automotive Design or something related but I got caught up with work and never had enough time or money to afford school. I saved some money and decided to study Industrial Design in UNICO Zapopan, Jalisco as higher education in Mexico is a lot more affordable than the States.
After finishing college, I got involved in drag racing and decided to open up a nitrous oxide refill station and speed shop, business was not that profitable so I turned to my career, I noticed the need for a nitrous oxide jet changer that wasn't invented yet and started sketching certain solutions, I enrolled in CECATI again to study Tools and Machining Processes so I could fabricate my own parts, at the turn of year and a half the day of my graduation I had my fully working prototype.
