I have just retired as a civil servant of the Brazilian Federal Public Administration, where I worked in both Judicial and Legislative systems.
During those years, I enjoyed the opportunity of fulfilling many positions, which enabled me to broaden my profe...ssional spectrum, and hold roles that involved complex administrative support; proofreading, editing and reviewing of shorthand notes of official proceedings of the Federal Court of Appeals, and parliamentary speeches, discussion, and voting sessions of the Senate. For 11 years, I worked at the General Secretariat of Senate Board and was responsible for the preparation and revision of official documents for the follow-up on Legislative processes and procedures. I was also appointed Secretary to several Senate Commissions and Committees. Another reward as a civil servant was my appointment as the coordinator and administrator of long-distance courses sponsored by Brazilian Legislative Institute (ILB), an institution of the Brazilian Senate, where I ended a long and gratifying career within the Brazilian Public Administration.
I graduated in Business Administration at Brasilia University.
Because of my personal interest in foreign languages, I have dedicated part of my off-duty time in the past 18 years to the translation works of English, German and French languages into Portuguese and took up a post-graduation course in English-Portuguese/Portuguese-English Translation at Gama Filho University, and a Special Intensive Translation Course in Film Subtitling at Pontifícia Universidade Católica, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am fluent in the three languages.
As freelance translator I have been working for the German and the Austrian Embassies in Brazil, and for other foreign governmental institutions, translation agencies and book publishers.
