I am Amirah Izzati, a freelance translator and transcriber with a specialisation in legal texts. I am also a part-time translator at the Malaysian Institute of Books and Translation. I can translate English to Malay and vice versa. I have a degree and foundation in Law with around 2 years of experience in the legal industry. I started translation work during college for students preparing their theses and after graduation I translated and reviewed legal texts for an intellectual property law firm. Currently, I am actively taking courses to improve my translation and editing skills.
In addition to legal texts (affidavits, judgement, terms and conditions, SDS, etc.), due to my background and personal interests, I am also familiar with visual art and design, creative works of fiction (stories, movies, game lore), biographies, tourism and recreational activities, gaming texts and lore, as well as documentaries for general audiences.
